In 1984 Navy chaplain, Rabbi Arnold Resnicoff convinced the Department of Defense to participate in the national Days of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust. Since then the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute has provided the DoD with materials to help commands commutate the DRVH. While DRVH always falls within the month of April, the exact days vary each year according to the Hebrew calendar. This year's theme is: Determination, Hope and Honor.
