Astronaut Michael E. Lopez-Alegria, mission specialist, watches as one of his six STS-73 crewmates (out of frame) rehearses action necessary in the case of an emergency with the space shuttle. The crewmate uses (and Lopez-Alegria later used) a Sky-genie device to rappel from the top of a troubled shuttle during emergency egress training exercises in the Systems Integration Facility at the Johnson Space Center (JSC).
