Views from the IMAX camera of operations on Node 1 and FGB during STS-88
Photographic documentation showing several fisheye views of the deployment of the International Space Station (ISS) Node 1 module and its mating to the Functional Cargo Block (FGB) during the STS-46 mission. In the images with astronauts during extravehicular activity (EVA), Jerry L. Ross is EVA 1 (stripes) and James H. Newman is EVA 2 (no stripes). These images were taken from the IMAX Cargo Bay Camera (ICBC). Images include: Ross, using the Portable Foot Restraint (PFR) attached to the Remote Manipulator System (RMS), and Newman working with the wire harnesses on the aft end of the FGB - the connected Node 1 and FBG drifts above Endeavor's, Orbital Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload bay and an earth limb is visible (03370); Newman, using the PFR, works by the overhead Common Berthing Mechanism (CBM) of Node 1 while Ross uses an EVA handrail near Pressurized Mating Adapter 2 (PMA 2) (03771-2); a view of the payload bay of Endeavor looking forward - the RMS, shuttle airlock hatch, an earth limb and a pallet are visible (03773 and 03780); Newman, using the PFR, and Ross work on the starboard side of Node 1 - an earth limb is visible (03774); a full view of Node 1 being manuveured by the RMS over the payload bay - PMA 1 is clearly visible as well as an earth limb (03775); the RMS guides the FGB towards Node 1 over the payload bay (03776); the RMS maneuvers Node 1 into place over the payload bay - an earth limb is in the background (03777); Newman works on the aft end of Node 1 near PMA 1 (03778); and Newman, using the PFR, works on the starboard side of Node 1 while Ross works on the port side - an earth limb is visible (03779).
