Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS) Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman operators and subject matter experts train security force professionals from Estonia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, and Mauritius on small craft tactics pertaining to immediate action drills for coastal and riverine operations on the Pearl River, near John C. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
NAVSCIATTS trains and educates foreign Special Operations Forces, SOF-like forces and SOF enables across the tactical, operational and strategic spectrums through in-residence and Mobile Training Team Courses of Instruction; and serves as USSOCOM’s premiere Security Force Assistance training asset. More than 13,000 students from more than 120 Partner Nations have trained with this Naval Special Warfare command since 1963.
NAVSCIATTS Courses of Instruction include operations, repairs, sustainment of craft (both riverine and littoral), communications, UAS, intel fusion operations as well as follow-on Partner Nation instructor development for all of the aforementioned courses. While the name implies, “naval” and “small craft,” more than half of the current courses apply to any specific force.
One of, it not the primary benefit of training with NAVSCIATTS, is relationship-building. Many of our alumni remain in contact with the staff in regards to professional matters, such as evolving technologies or ever-present training opportunities. The ability to provide training across course curriculums also provides an invaluable training opportunity and the formation of relationships. (U.S. Navy photos by Michael Williams)
