220216-N-MQ631-1034 GROTON, Conn. (Feb. 15, 2022) Thames River Magnet School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon in a ceremony that took place in the school’s cafeteria. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The ceremony included remarks from Representative Joe Courtney (CT 2nd), State Senator Heather Somers, Susan Austin, Groton Superintendent of Schools, and Captain Ken Curtin, Naval Submarine Base New London Commanding Officer.
