Let’s give GySgt. Scott Hambrick from the Marine Detachment a shout-out for being chosen as the Warrior of the Week during this week’s staff meeting! As the Marine Detachment Gunnery Sergeant, GySgt Hambrick is in a one of one billet. He is considered to be a “jack of all trades”, taking care of whatever is thrown his way. GySgt Hambrick is responsible for the initial counseling and housing of every Entry Level Student who arrives to Marine Detachment Keesler. His day-to-day operations include tracking the training requirements (annual, Professional Military Education and ancillary) of all Marines, Staff and Student, attached to Marine Detachment Keesler. GySgt Hambrick also heads the detachments Body Composition Program, which is where Marines whom are overweight are assigned in order to be educated and trained to become within height and weight standards. In addition to his daily duties, GySgt Hambrick also holds the collateral duties of Anti-Terrorism Rep, Unit Command Coordinator, Facilities Manager and Limited Duty Coordinator.
