James Snyder, 788th Civil Engineer Squadron district fire chief, retires with 37 years of combined military and civil service, Oct. 29, 2021, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Snyder began working in the boiler plants of Wright-Patterson as an enlisted Airman, before becoming a civilian in the plants, then transferring to the fire department where he excelled and rose through the ranks prior to his retirement.
