Meet our Wyvern Fighter of the Week: Desire Phipps, 31st Comptroller Squadron wing staff resource adviser! Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Phipps has been part of Team Aviano for eight months.
As the resource adviser, Phipps managed a budget of $2.3 million between USAFE and Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (IMSC) commands across 21 agencies for fiscal year 2021. She also headed the Integrated Delivery System coordination to initiate successful install of IDS across Aviano for fiscal year 2022.
A defining moment in Phipps’ life is when she graduated college and realized her potential was far beyond the limitations that were set by predetermined factors. Her personal motto is, ‘Whatever you do, do the best that can be done.’
Phipps enjoys history, traveling and photography. Outside of her professional commitments, she volunteers for Vicini Americani, a program created to strengthen connections between Americans and local Italian communities through volunteer opportunities and social events, as the social media manager. She has also donated over 2500 photos for various events across the Wing.
