Meet our Wyvern Fighter of the Week: Airman 1st Class Vince Mamone, 606 Air Control Squadron, radio frequency transmissions systems technician.
A1C Mamone, a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, arrived in Italy in August 2020. Mamone trained three new Airmen in the 606th’s radio shop, leading and directly contributing to their upgrade training progression and work-center qualification. In addition, A1C Mamone trained multiple Wyvern Warriors throughout the base on how to drive two types of GOVs, the HMMV and the 5 Ton. Recently, A1C Mamone briefed the 606th’s director of operations (DO) on the TRC-214 (Radio Interface Unit) as well as the radio work centers contributions to the mission. This brief was lauded for his in-depth knowledge of the equipment and exceptional professionalism; leading the DO to single-out his efforts with these words, “ [I] had the incredible opportunity to learn from A1C Mamone during a portion of Ops formal training… he absolutely knocked it out of the park!”
A1C Mamone’s personal motto is “Sharing is caring,” and his hero is his father. He is inspired by his parents, former boss, and his best friends. Mamone’s defining moment was his entrance into the work sector and the struggle with learning something brand new while also being expected to be the subject matter expert within an accelerated time frame.
We appreciate everything you’re doing for our Wyvern team, A1C Mamone. Keep up the excellent work!
