This Fort Riley Friday we’re back on the Historic Cavalry Post.
Quarters 5 Barry Avenue was built in 1904 as Field Officer’s Quarters.
It was constructed with limestone walls and foundation, wood and concrete floors and a slate roof.
Quarters 5 is nearly identical to its neighbors to the southeast, Quarters 4, built in 1903, and Quarters 2, built in 1889.
Since it was constructed, Quarters 5 continuously served as housing for field grade officers.
