U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Luke J. Groleau hails from Flat Rock, Michigan. Groleau is currently serving as an avionics technician with Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 364, assigned to the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response – Central Command 21.1 (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Being a part of VMM-364 means that Groleau works on and maintains the MV-22 Ospreys. This is critical to the mission of the SPMAGTF-CR-CC because the Ospreys are used as a quick and effective means of transport throughout the Central Command area of operations. Groleau ensures that the Ospreys are in working condition if and when that time comes.
“One of the biggest challenges we faced out here is dealing with a new environment and conditions unlike back home. The wind and sand have played a big part in the maintenance and operation of the Ospreys,” explains Groleau.
In his spare time, Groleau enjoys working out as well as reading and listening to books. Upon his return home, he plans to take some time off and spend it with his wife and to enjoy just being back in the states.
