U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Samuel Setiadi, an aviation electronics technician with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 115, poses for a photo at Rissala Air Base, near Kuopio, Finland, June 9, 2021. “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way,” said Setiadi, a native of Jakarta, Indonesia. According to his superiors, Setiadi’s leadership ability, technical acumen, and can-do attitude have been second-to-none. Due to his innate drive toward self-improvement, he quickly surpassed his peers in knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, qualifications, and General Support Equipment (GSE) licenses. He has distinguished himself as a superior performer throughout the maintenance department by consistently setting an exemplary standard. Not one to be satisfied with average, he has taken it upon himself to work toward Plane Captain, a qualification designated for those outside his MOS. Further improving the unit’s readiness and overall lethality is why he was nominated to be the motivator of the week. VMFA-115 is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, which is the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Caleb Stelter)
