Meet U.S. Army 1st Lt. Paige Gorzelancyzk, a platoon leader providing food, water, fuel and ammunition to Soldiers across the battlefield.
Deployed to the Central Training Area near Varpalota, Hungary, with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Gorzelancyzk plans and coordinates resupply for 817 U.S. Soldiers and 130 Ukrainian Ground Forces. "It's a good experience, a different atmosphere to see what our training can do," said Gorzelancyzk when asked about working with multinational partners.
The 2d Cavalry Regiment conducted a 190 vehicle tactical road march from Germany to Hungary to participate in Saber Guardian 21 as a part of DEFENDER-Europe 21, a large-scale U.S. Army-led exercise designed to build readiness and interoperability between the U.S., NATO allies and partner militaries.
Gorzelancyzk, a native of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and her platoon will spend from May 31 to June 10 training with the multinational task force headed by the Hungarian Defense Force's 5th Infantry Brigade.
"Being with my Soldiers makes it worth coming to work," said Gorzelancyzk. "They make it fun."
