Meet U.S. Army Pfc. Nallely Delgado, a combat medic specialist assigned to 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, who acted as a first responder in the field during a joint exercise known as Immediate Response 21.

Delgado, along with other members of the 2-124th, conducted joint training with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH).

“It makes me feel good knowing I can help someone in need,” Delagado said.

Delgado, originally from Chicago, is currently studying to become a registered nurse at Pasco-Hernando State College in New Port Richey, Fla. Delgado chose to follow in the footsteps of her mother by entering into the medical field.

Immediate Response 21 supports DEFENDER-Europe 21, is an annual large-scale U.S. Army-led, multinational, joint exercise designed to build readiness and interoperability between U.S., NATO, and partner militaries. This year, more than 28,000 multinational forces from 26 nations will conduct nearly simultaneous operations across more than 30 training areas in more than a dozen countries from the Baltics to the strategically important Balkans and the Black Sea Region.
