View of the Jacobus Vanderveer House at Bedminster, N.J., April 20, 2021. Brig. Gen. Henry Knox, Chief of the Continental Army Artillery, lived in the house while commanding the Pluckemin Artillery Cantonment during the winter of 1778-1779. The house, which is located at 3055 River Road Park, is the only surviving building associated with the Cantonment, America’s first military academy.
