“Exercise Balikatan is a great opportunity for the Philippines and the United Stated to strengthen an already great partnership and alliance. For us at the tactical level, working with 710 Special Operations Wing, we’ve been partnered with them for quite some time and we have a great relationship working with them.
My favorite part of Exercise Balikatan is the personal relationship that we get with the Filipinos here. We are friends, we stay in touch throughout the year. It’s very exciting for us to be able to come back out here. It’s great to do the training, but we have a great bond and friendship that some people within our unit have had for over a decade with some of our Filipino counterparts here. I’d say the friendship is the most important part to us and that’s really what the foundation of our relationship and our training here is based upon.”
