Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a lifelong Michigan native, gives a speech to local media before receiving her vaccination at the state-run, federally-supported Ford Field Community Vaccination Center (CVC) in Detroit, April 6, 2021. Her visit to the CVC was to promote awareness that community members aged 16 and up are now able to be vaccinated in Michigan. The Ford Field CVC is designed to vaccinate up to 6,000 community members per day. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
