U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Berenise Hart, a Compton, California native and patient administration specialist assigned to the Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force - Medical Command, stands in front of the territorially-led, federally-supported COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center in St. Thomas, U.S Virgin Islands, March 10, 2021. At the CVC, Hart is responsible for verifying community members information for the COVID-19 vaccination. Hart is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington where she works at the Madigan Army Medical Center. She said that she is grateful for the opportunity to be in the U.S. Virgin Islands and has had a chance to experience the local community in her off-time. Hart said, “It is a small island, but it is making a huge impact.” U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
