A C-130J Hercules aircraft equipped with Modular Airborne Firefighting System performs a water drop in the Angeles National Forest near Los Angeles. The 146th Airlift Wing conducted their annual recertification and training at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Port Hueneme, Calif. in early March 2012 to hone their skills and prepare for the upcoming fire season MAFFS is a portable system that slides into the back of the C130J, capable of dispensing 3000 gallons of fire retardant in less than five seconds.
