Crane Army Ammunition Activity employees prepare a production line to run test batches for manufacturing hand sanitizer. CAAA is collaborating with McAlester Army Ammunition Plant to support the Organic Industrial Base effort to fight COVID-19 and alleviate demand for hand sanitizer so health care professionals have greater access to these vital products. CAAA's ongoing mission even during the COVID-19 crisis is to produce and provide conventional munitions in support of U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness. It is one of 14 installations of the Joint Munitions Command and one of 23 organic industrial base installations under the U.S. Army Materiel Command, which include arsenals, depots, activities and ammunition plants.
