FORT BENNING, Ga. – In an image from a recent video, Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Donahoe, commanding general of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning, points to the hedgerow cutter affixed to a World War II-vintage M4 Sherman tank, as an example of how a Soldier's suggestion in World War II helped achieve critical battlefield success. Donahoe cited the example in announcing a new program modeled in part on the "Shark Tank" TV show, that gives Soldiers and civilians here a chance to offer ideas for improvement and innovation It's called the Maneuver Innovation Challenge. The chance to submit ideas began Dec. 1 and continues through Feb. 1, with winners to be announced Feb. 15.
