An F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the "Checkmates" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211, launches off the bow of nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) on a night Close Air Support mission over Afghanistan. Enterprise and embarked Carrier Air Wing 1 are on a scheduled deployment in support of maritime operations and the global war on terrorism.
