This week’s Local Legend is Gabriele Restuccia, a vehicle maintainer from the 731st Munitions Squadron at Camp Darby, Italy. Gabriele was born in Livorno, Tuscany, Italy on November 13, 1985. Gabriele worked at Camp Darby for two years in 2008 before deciding to work for the U.S. Air Force in 2012, and 8 years later he’s still there!
Gabriele loves to work with his hands, which is why his job is a perfect fit for him. On a daily basis, Gabriele fixes tractors, trucks, forklifts, trailers and other vehicles for Camp Darby.
When Gabriele wants to relax, he likes to ride his bike, drive his 2011 Mustang or ride his motorcycle. His favorite place to visit is the United States. He once took a cruise to the Caribbean for his honeymoon and stopped in Miami for a day and fell in love with the city. Though the U.S. is his favorite place to travel, if he could go anywhere in the world, he would go to Norway.
On top of working with his hands, another great benefit of his job is he gets to meet and work with great people. Gabriele really likes to talk with his coworkers and share experiences and collective knowledge.
Thank you so much Gabriele for everything you’ve done! We are so glad to have you on the team!
