Los Angeles Air Force Base commemorated this year’s Prisoners of War/ Missing in Action (POW/MIA) by holding a 24-hour torch relay run themed “Relentless Pursuit, Determined Nation” on September 24, 2020. The original ceremony was delayed due to local air quality. The National POW/MIA Recognition Day was established in 1979 through a presidential proclamation and is honored annually on the third Friday in September. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the base’s 24-hour torch run. (U.S. Space Force photo by Van Ha)
