BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 28, 2020) US Navy Surgeon General Rear Admiral Bruce Gillingham receives his annual flu immunization from US Navy Hospitalman Macie Jones at Walter Reed National Medical Center Oct. 28, 2020. Receiving the flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19; however, flu vaccination has been shown to reduce the risk of illness and hospitalization from an influenza infection. Service members should check with their local military treatment facility or medical personnel to find out where they can get their shots. US Navy photo by CDR Denver Applehans/Released.
