U.S. Army soldiers from Task Force Raptor, 3rd Squadron, 124th Cavalry Regiment, Texas Army National Guard, maneuver up a mountainside while participating in the unit's spur ride Aug. 2, 2012, in the deserts of Djibouti. The spur ride is a cavalry tradition in which a trooper must pass a series of tests that evaluate physical, leadership, technical and tactical proficiency in a high stress environment in order to earn his spurs and become a member of the Order of the Spur. Task Force Raptor is deployed in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
