Ohio Air National Guard Master Sgt. Kristin VanFossan, a personnel specialist with the Ohio National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters, stands for a photo following a controlled deer hunt Oct. 10, 2020, at Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center, near Newton Falls Ohio. VanFossan, who has been a hunter for about seven years, was selected for the women's 50/50 hunt where the primary applicant is required to be a female. The Ohio National Guard, Camp James A. Garfield environmental office and Ohio Division of Wildlife work together to facilitate these hunts as a conservation effort to preserve the training facility's natural resources.
