NORFOLK, Va. (Oct. 8, 2020) – The Arleigh-Burke class guided missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) and the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) sit pier-side at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia during sunset, Oct. 8, 2020. Cole was the target of a terrorist attack in Yemen October 12, 2000. This year her crew commemorates the 20 years of this attack and the remembers the 17 Sailors who were lost, as well as the Sailors who survived. The ship is named in honor of Darrell S.
