Fire Prevention Week is observed each year in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began Oct. 8, 1871, and destroyed 2,000 acres of land. Dover AFB hosted Fire Prevention Week 2020, which included a series of live and virtual demonstrations and tours to promote the importance of fire safety Oct. 5-10, 2020.
