    Oregon Army National Guard Soldiers Staff Sgt. James William, of Warrenton, and Spc. Efren Flores, of Springfield, both with the 1186th Military Police Company, 821 Troop Command Battalion, 82nd Brigade, speak with a driver wanting access to personal property at the traffic control point (TCP) near Stayton, Ore., Sept 15, 2020.The Soldiers are assisting in protecting people from dangers still active in the area after recent Oregon fires.They are only allowing access to essential personnel, such as fire crews, utility workers and medical teams. Approximately 1000 Oregon Citizen-Soldiers and Citizen-Airmen are supporting overall firefighting efforts with both aviation and ground crews in addition to supporting county liaison teams and Oregon State Police, with both TCP and fatality search and rescue operations.
