A young eisa dancer pauses during a performance at the 35th Annual Tedako Festival at Urasoe International Park July 21. Eisa dancing is derived from a Buddhist prayer dance to send ancestors off to the afterlife and is commonly performed at Okinawa festivals. The Tedako Festival consisted of many different events including: live music, youth sporting activities, the Ms. Tedako crowning ceremony, and a wide variety of food, games and fireworks.
