St Augustine, FLA—The Florida Army National Guard’s Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Campbell was recognized Friday for becoming the state’s first recruiter to meet Diamond Club Status. This is achieved only when a recruiter meets their yearly quota within the first six months. It only took Campbell four months, three weeks to complete.
Master Sgt. Tara Shaw, Bravo Company team chief for the Recruiting and Retention Battalion’s Tampa Area, has work with Campbell for over five years, and says he’s an incredibly driven Soldier, and it often drives his peers to do the same.
“I’ve worked with him over the course of 5-6 years and know when he puts his mind to something there’s no stopping him. He’s not someone you have to motivate; he does it himself. I can’t say I’m surprised to see him make mission in just five months,” said Shaw.
The reward for achieving this so soon was a newly wrapped Ford Fusion government work vehicle that has sharp new advertising for recruiting all the way around the car.
“I wasn’t doing it to get a car or anything, but when they put out the criteria for the award I was like, yeah why not. If that’s the criteria or bar they want to set, that’s what I want to achieve,” said Campbell, “My ultimate goal this year is to be what’s called directorate 54; to be the best recruiter in the state.”
