Lt. Cmdr. Kelly Peng, an emergency medicine doctor at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Naples, looks to her colleague during a weekly training exercise for scenario prompts. The emergency room staff maintain their knowledge, skills, and abilities with a weekly scenario that requires teamwork and clinical expertise. In this scenario, a fellow staff member acted as the patient in need of care while proctors off to the side provided vitals and symptom information for the team to work from. During COVID-19, the emergency team must learn to continue care for patients while also performing risk mitigation measures.
