This is a SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) coronagraph image dated 2020-06-15 at 21:30 UT, showing the solar corona with two newly discovered comets labeled SOHO-3999 and SOHO-4000. The image features a magnified inset circle highlighting the two comets near each other, with a secondary inset in the upper right showing the Sun represented by a red disk against a dark blue occulting disk. This appears to be a milestone image capturing the 3999th and 4000th comets discovered by the SOHO spacecraft.

The 4,000th comet discovered by ESA (European Space Agency) and NASA’s SOHO observatory is seen here in an image from the spacecraft alongside SOHO’s 3,999th comet discovery. The two comets are relatively close at approximately 1 million miles apart, suggesting that they could have been connected together as recently as a few years ago.
