    Marine Rotational Force - Darwin

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Mikayla Stewart, an ammunition technician with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, is one of the many Marines participating in MRF-D 2020 at the Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin in NT, Australia. A Rochester, N.Y., native, Stewart performs a variety of duties including the management and accountability of all ammunition throughout the annual rotation.

“One of the main reasons I chose to enlist was because I wanted to challenge myself and commit to a long journey of personal growth. I am fortunate for the opportunity to be in Australia because we are able to explore the country and experience new things. A lot of us ammunition technicians have a tight-knit bond. We have a critical job because of all of the training that the Marine Corps does, especially here. I am excited to learn more about my military occupational specialty and to gain more experience while attached to Marine Rotational Force - Darwin.”

MRF-D enables U.S. Marines and the ADF to enhance regional security, strengthen alliances, and partnerships, and increase the ability to rapidly respond to crises throughout the region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Sarah Marshall)
