FORT PICKETT, Va. (April 28, 2020) -- Pvt. Madison Raney, Charlie Company, 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, holds on to her static line as she awaits instructions for a jump aboard an aircraft flying above Fort Pickett’s Blackstone Army Airfield April 22. The rigger student had earlier worn clothing partially covering her face and observed social distance measures, but the advanced individual training Soldier seemed oblivious to COVID-19 concerns during the moments leading to a jump from an aircraft flying roughly 1,500 above ground. She was among 28 rigger students and others who participated in the Quartermaster School’s first airborne operation since they were interrupted in early March due to coronavirus concerns.
