This semester “Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity” by Katherine Boo was selected as the topic of discussion during the book club. The book recounts life in the Annawadi slums of Mumbai, India. The book club was able to hold its first meeting of the semester at the academy but plans for additional meetings were uprooted due to COVID-19.
