Life support area, or LSA, facilities are being constructed rapidly across the country through the Army's LOGCAP by contracted agreements with private companies in response to COVID-19. Similar to small cities, many LSAs are helping meet immediate needs during the pandemic crisis. Similar contracts are executed during natural disaster emergency relief efforts. Additional contracts being executed by MICC-Fort Benning include mobile broadband services for the installation and modifications to existing contracts to allow for increased outdoor training. MICC-Fort Benning is a subordinate contracting activity to the MICC Field Directorate Office at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. MICC FDO Fort Eustis has awarded 74 contract actions and forecasts 10 actions as part of the Army's response to COVID-19.
