Sergeant Albert “Combat” Carls, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 6 combat camera team chief from Sacramento, Calif., is on his third combat deployment and documents the history of the battalion with video and still imagery. A father of five, Carls hopes to one day retire and show his grandkids what happened in Afghanistan while the Marines were here.
