FORT HOOD, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center’s dietitians celebrate National Nutrition Month’s “Happy Registered Dietitian’s Day” by answering beneficiaries’ nutritional and weight-management questions. Popular topics during the March 11 event included questions about fad diets and caloric intake to losing weight and keeping it off. The purpose of the month-long nutritional awareness campaign is to promote healthier food choices and physical activity. Throughout the month, the Fort Hood medical center is sponsoring activities such as yoga and salsa dancing, as well as several seminars on fad diets and performance fueling for the new Army Combat Fitness Test. CRDAMC registered dietitians on hand to answer questions and offer advice are from left, 1st Lt. Jonathan Allen, Lt. Col. Maria Yates, Sheila Lavertue and 1st Lt. Sara Crews.
