Olivia Gransback, officer in charge of the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division female engagement team, socializes with roleplaying Afghan locals June 16 in the Afghanistan town of Shar-e Tiefort, a mock village at the National Training Center on Fort Irwin, Calif., as leadership from 4th Brigade meet with locals there during a key leader engagement exercise. The brigade, which has never been to NTC since its inception as a Stryker brigade in 2006, is making final preparations for a fall deployment to Afghanistan.
