An annular solar eclipse occurred over Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 26, 2019. This type of eclipse takes place when the moon covers the center of the sun and leaves the sun’s outer edges visible, resulting in an annulus, or a “ring of fire,” around the moon.
