Anderson Flansburg, a native of Germantown, Tenn., assigned to the 3rd Munitions Squadron trains his Airmen while they build a 2,000-pound Guided Bomb Unit 31 version 3 at the Bomb Assembly Pad on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 18, 2019. The Airmen normally build 1,000-pound guided bomb units called GBU-32, but because they could be deployed or on temporary duty working with multiple aircraft, they’re now working with 11 different bombs and variants, making them more effective and lethal.
