Pehr H. Pehrsson, a retired captain and the first commanding officer of amphibious transport dock USS Shreveport (LPD 12), delivers his final remarks about the ship, Sept. 26, during the ship's decommissioning ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va. Shreveport was commissioned on Dec. 12, 1970, in Bremerton, Wash., and has served across the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans with 24 commanding officers and seven Presidents.
