Coast Guard, AMVER vessel assist disabled sailing vessel more than 420 miles east of Cape Canaveral
The motor vessel Sophie Schulte crew, an automated mutual-assistance vessel rescue (AMVER) motor vessel, is on scene with the 68-foot sailing vessel, Distant Drummer attempting to assist in repairing the sailing vessel’s engine Nov. 24, 2019 more than 420 miles east of Cape Canaveral. The sailing vessel was towed by the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C.
