The U.S. Coast Guard Medium Endurance-class cutter USCGC Seneca (WMEC 906) makes its way past the Statue of Liberty during the Parade of Sail, launching Fleet Week New York 2012. Fleet Week New York 2012 marks the 25th year the city has celebrated the nation's sea services for the citizens of New York and the tri-state area. This year, the seven-day event, coincides with the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, with more than 6,000 service-members from the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard sea services in addition to coalition ships from around the world.
