WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The technology introduced during Operation Southern Focus and the subsequent invasion of Iraq helped set the stage for future innovation and inventions across the United States Air Force footprint, said Air Force Materiel Command Historian Yancy Mailes during a ‘brown-bag lunch talk’ at AFMC headquarters. The AFMC History Office was named the recipient of the Air Force History and Museums Program’s Excellence in History Program Award, Major Command level, for 2019.
