Coast Guard transports 2 patients to higher level care in Anchorage, Alaska
A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak HC-130 Hercules aircrew transported two patients from Dutch Harbor to higher level care in Anchorage, Alaska, Oct. 25, 2019. A 60-year-old man and a high-risk pregnant woman were safely transferred to awaiting EMS at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 17th District Command Center received a non-maritime EMS transport request due to commercial services being unable to land at the Dutch Harbor Airport because of daylight restrictions. The Hercules aircrew launched from Air Station Kodiak and flew to Dutch Harbor where the two patients and an in-flight medical professional were brought aboard for transport. U. S.
