A Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Reconnaissance and Surveillance team assigned to the 21st Chemical Company, Fort Bragg, N.C., measure the levels of isotope emissions and identify the source of the radiation located on a live radiological contaminated site as part of their training mission which simulated the detonation of a radiological explosive device. The U.S. Department of Energy, Radiological Emergency Preparedness Section provided the radiological sources used in the training and the U.S Department of Health, Office of Radiation Protection monitored levels of radiation to ensure the exercise was safe for training purposes.
