Three Air Force Wounded Warrior Program Ambassadors (pictured left to right), Master Sgt. (Ret.) Adam Boccher, Staff Sgt. Kevin Greene, and Maj. (Ret.) Emily Elmore, discuss their unique experiences on the road to recovery and resiliency during an event conducted at U.S. Transportation Command, Aug. 21. Established in 2005, the Congressionally-mandated and federally-funded program assists ill and injured active-duty airmen, veterans, and their families, providing personalized restorative care throughout the individual’s transformation back to duty, separation and/or retirement, while remaining in contact with him/her throughout the process. Currently, the AFW2 supports approximately 4,000 Air Force personnel and their dependents. In addition, 110 Air Force wounded warriors serve in the organization’s Ambassador Program, which provides the opportunity for them to share their inspiring messages of hope and healing with others.
